Support software for computer and network

When you integrate new software solutions for your help desk it is important to make sure the software provides computer support and network support. You need to be sure that the software meets all of your needs.
Software for computer support should provide options related to the software you use throughout the company. It should include the operating systems too. When a ticket is created through the help desk system the support team should be able to select the different types of software that they need to open a ticket about. In addition, you might have certain people throughout the company that are experts on different software packages. These should be assignable through the software and provide notifications to these people also.
Computer support also includes hardware issues that might be causing problems for employees. This list includes but is not limited to computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, keyboards, mice, phones, and more.
Network support is also important for software you integrate with your help desk. Network support is often regarded as more important because when network issues occur they often take out more than just one user. It is important for trouble tickets to be able to be created that include issues like routers, switches, servers, phone lines, data lines, and more.
When software is used through a help desk to create trouble tickets for computer support and network support, they are often prioritized by the amount of users that are affected. If there is a work around the issue is not considered an emergency and the IT support may have a week timeframe to fix it.
The software should have everything integrated within it so trouble tickets can be created properly for computers or networks. These tickets will be what the technicians work off of in order to help the internal and external employees.

Category of Computer Software

What is a computer software category? There are three types, or categories, of computer software:
·  Application software
·  System software
·  Programming software / Middleware
Application software is what most people think of when they think of software. It is a program or set of programs that fulfills a business requirement, such as Word processors, Excel, payroll software, computer games, graphics and music.
System software is any computer software which manages and controls computer hardware so that application software can perform a task that enable the end-user to perform specific, productive tasks, such as operating systems.
Programming software, or middleware, usually provides tools to assist a developer in writing computer programs in a more convenient way. The tools include text editors, compilers, interpreters, linkers, debuggers, etc.
Application software is a subclass of computer software that employs the capabilities of a computer directly and thoroughly to a task that the user wishes to perform. This should be contrasted with system software which is involved in integrating a computer's various capabilities.
Typically the software does not directly apply them in the performance of tasks that benefit the user. In this context the term application refers to both the application software and its implementation. Multiple applications bundled together as a package are sometimes referred to as an application suite.
Microsoft Office, OpenOffice.org, and iWork 08, which bundle together a word processor, a spreadsheet, and several other discrete applications, are typical examples. The separate applications in a suite usually have a user interface that has some commonality making it easier for the user to learn and use each application.
Often they may have some capability to interact with each other in ways beneficial to the user. For example, a spreadsheet might be able to be embedded in a word processor document even though it had been created in the separate spreadsheet application.
User-written software tailors systems to meet the user's specific needs. User-written software include spreadsheet templates, word processor macros, scientific simulations, graphics and animation scripts. Even email filters are a kind of user software. Users create this software themselves and often overlook how important it is.
In some types of embedded systems, the application software and the operating system software may be indistinguishable to the user, as in the case of software used to control a VCR, DVD player or microwave oven. It is important to note that this definition may exclude some applications that may exist on some computers in large organizations.

Type of Computer Hardware

The personal computer consists of multiple computer hardware or multiple devices linked together to create a whole working machine. Some of the hardware are external such as keyboards, printers and mouse that is connected via cable or other methods. These hardware need to be installed via a software program before it can run. They increase the efficiency of the personal computer, and do tasks such as business, design, entertainment and more. Here are the main types of computer hardware that you can buy for your PC.
1. Hard drive - also called hard disk, it is the permanent storage space that stores all information and applications of the computer, retaining the space even when it is turned off.
2. Motherboard - Considered as the most important types of computer hardware. The motherboard houses the microprocessor, providing the necessary sockets and slots that connect to all other types of computer hardware. Thus the motherboard serves as the 'mediator', a channel that allows the components to work together and walk to each other, making it a whole and completely working unit.
3. RAM - short for Random Access Memory. It is the memory used to process applications. RAM is lost when the computer is turned off.
4. ROM - short for Read Only Memory. It serves as memory for storage of programs.
5. Storage Devices - External storage devices like CDs, DVDs, USB flash drives are important as removable storage devices that you can take from one personal computer to another.
6. Power Supply Unit (PSU) - this converts the AC power to low voltage DC power, integral for the internal components of the PC.
7. Sound Card - responsible for the PC's audio input and output, necessary for games, music and other multimedia programs.
8. Keyboard - an input device used to input text & characters by pressing the keys.
9. Mouse - pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion to the surface. Other pointing devices include the track ball, the touch pad and the touch screen.
10. Joystick - a gaming device with a handheld stick that pivots from left to right and up to down, detecting angles in two and three dimensions.
11. Image input devices - includes scanners and web cams, these devices are used to provide input of images, written text, handwriting, etc for digital use.
12. Image output devices - the printer, used to produce a physical and permanent text or graphic document.
13. Audio input devices - the microphone is used to record or provide input through sound conversion to electrical signals.
14. Audio output devices - headphones and speakers that allows you to hear the audio coming from the computer.
15. Monitor - the monitor is an electronic visual display that shows the graphical and textual information of the computer. There are may types of monitors, such as the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube), which is almost obsolete, the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) which is the most common monitor used nowadays, and the touch screen display.
All these types of computer hardware can contribute to the overall experience of your computer. It can make your computer faster, brighter and more entertaining. Some of the computer hardware are necessary for your PC to work, while others amplifies the whole experience.

Information about Computer Hardware

It is not an overstatement to say that many computer users do not know what computer hardware is let alone being able to differentiate it from software. The best they know and they can do is to operate their system anytime they need it. However, this is not the best. You need to know a little about the computer and its hardware as well as its components.  Computers are like the human body with various components that come together to make the entire system.
As the name suggests, computer hardware is the peripheral or the palpable component of the computer different from the software or program that is used in it. It is the unit of the component that you can touch and feel. Hardware is not the same in every computer. What determine the hardware your computer will use are the brand and the model of the computer that you are using. Sometimes computers of the same brand but different in the model may not even use the same hardware. Another thing that you should know about hardware is that it is essential for the running of computer software. If you do not have good hardware, your software will not perform well no matter the quality and the version you are using.
When you hear about hardware with reference to computers, do not think that a computer has just a unit called hardware. No! They are not one but many. Let us look at some of them. The most important computer hardware is the system unit. Owing to its importance, it is regarded as the main computer. The rest of the components has a connection with the system unit for their maximum performance. The hardware that stores the files being worked with at a particular time is known as the RAM meaning Random Access memory.  There are others that are not mentioned here.

The only advantage of this mini laptop apart from its small hard drive is its key board, which cannot really accommodate adult hands and makes typing a little difficult.

Apart from these, VAIO VPC-P111KX/ P 8 Inch laptop, Dell Inspiration i14R-1708MRB
14 Inch Laptop, and Samsung NF210-A02 10.1 Inch Netbook, etc., can be considered as some of the cheap mini laptops if you buy a second hand piece or buy it online. You may not find them as cheap as you imagined but remember that quality comes with a price. Moreover the term cheap is very subjective. So just go through different reviews of mini laptops from various websites and compare the prices of different minis and buy the one that suits your budget.
There are certain things though, that you must keep in mind before buying any of the mini laptops. Firstly, remember to consider the operating system. A laptop with low quality operating system would be cheaper but it won't allow you to run advance programs. Whereas, high-end operating system would be a little costlier on your pocket but it would certainly not disappoint you. Also, consider the hardware size that ultimately decides how much data you can store in the laptop. Apart from this, you must also consider the size of the screen of the mini laptop. A very small screen makes the display scrunch which does not give a good picture quality and it also makes reading the text on the screen very difficult at times. One last advice I would like to leave you with is that make it a point to visit a store and try your hands on the mini laptop you wish to buy. This will give you a clear idea of how much 'mini' the laptop actually is and would you be able to use it comfortably. If you find it apt, only then go for it.
